Deep-Link Filtering / URL-Based Views (Modeled After CSRconnect Behavior)

If GRANT-I-346 can not be implemented, it would be helpful to allow deep linking on the applications page for GrantsConnect admins, similar to deep linking that is supported in CSRConnect. Deep linking on the applications section would be directly related to filters applied (example for illustrative purposes only: yourcausegrants.com/management/manage-applications/applications?workflowLevel=CEOApproval). Applications tab would be our priority, but deep linking in application view could to certain forms, for example, could also be helpful.

This request is primarily about reducing governance risk through guided navigation, not simply improving usability.

Currently in GrantsConnect:

  • Users must manually apply filters each time they enter Applications.

  • There is no supported link syntax to open a saved view or pre-filtered dataset. User must manually click on pre-set filters.

  • This increases operational risk when users have global action permissions.

Example use case:

An executive approver needs to access only applications within a specific workflow level (e.g., CEO Approval Queue) to approve. If the platform supported link parameters or saved-view URLs such as example above, administrators could provide safer navigation pathways and reduce dependency on manual filtering. We have had the CEO accidentally approve grants that were not ready for review or approval yet in earlier workflows because of our need to allow him to bulk approve grants. This is a huge control issue for us (see GRANT-I-346 for more information). If we had deep link the CEO could save, he would automatically get the right set of grants to approve when navigating to the applications tab.

Business Value:

  • Reduces accidental bulk actions by guiding users into safe filtered contexts

  • Improves executive usability without diminishing current permissions that allow for operational efficiency and in-record grant compliance documentation

  • Supports enterprise governance models

  • Aligns GrantsConnect navigation with CSRConnect platform capabilities
